Fleet software in the news
JAAMA RESTRUCTURES SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM AND RECRUITS MORE STAFF TO DRIVE FORWARD COMPANY EXPANSION
Jaama, the leading fleet management software company, is looking to expand following the restructuring of its top tier of management as its moves into a new phase of development.
Acquisitions are on the cards as well as further organic growth, following an expansion and restructuring of the senior management team to enable managing director Jason Francis to focus on long-term development of the company and further boost customer service.
Mr Francis said: “We will shortly be celebrating our fourth anniversary. The business has grown rapidly due to the functionality of our product range, which has attracted a wide range of customers, and the level of service we deliver to customers. That winning combination has resulted in Jaama being the most recommended software supplier to fleets.
“As a result of our standing in the industry, I am stepping away from day-to-day operations and will concentrate on business growth with acquisitions very much on the agenda.”
The restructured senior management team includes the recent recruitment of Henk Wobbes as customer services manager and Annette Nally as training officer. Elizabeth Pinson, who takes on the role of senior project manager, will join them on August 4. In addition, operations director Adrian Morris has taken up a new brief as product and quality manager.
The management team is completed by Martin Evans, sales director; Michelle Morgan, implementation manager; Stuart Mills, development manager; Vicki McLoughlin, finance manager; and Ellie Whiten, marketing manager.
Mr Francis: “We now employ about 40 people and in August the company will move to significantly larger premises to facilitate our expansion drive.
“Although Jaama launched expecting to sell software systems to end-user car and commercial vehicle fleets, the functionality and capability of our systems is such that we are not only serving that market, but we have won significant contracts with 14 vehicle leasing and rental companies and recently provided a system to a start-up accident management business.”
He added: “From launch, in four years Jaama has won a significant volume of business in a market in which there are a number of suppliers. In a sector that continues to require product investment to remain at the cutting-edge, I expect consolidation to take place, because in a slowing economy some of our competitors, including those with struggling parent companies, have not got the resources to keep pace.
“But, apart from looking at acquisitions in the fleet management software sector we will also be seeking synergies in complementary software areas.”
Henk Wobbes has spent more than a decade in IT. Following spells with a number of Netherlands-based organisations, including Shell EP Europe, Shell IT International and Groningen City Council. He moved to the UK and joined Birmingham-based Trans-aXion Ltd last year setting up and managing a 24/7 skilled support department.
At Jaama he is responsible for building, managing, mentoring and motivating the company’s customer services team, which is responsible for all of its vehicle, asset, leasing and finance software products and taking customer service requests, providing usage advice, resolving technical issues and arranging installations and upgrades for new and existing customers.
Elizabeth Pinson will join Jaama early next month from rival fleet software organisation CFC Solutions where she has spent 12 years as product designer.
Meanwhile, Annette Nally has taken up the post of training officer with responsibility for training customers that introduce Jaama’s Key2 Vehicle Management software. Jaama provides client staff training at system launch and on an ongoing basis, particularly when new modules and software updates are released and new employees are recruited.
Prior to joining Jaama she spent more than a decade in the specialist motor trade and for the last two years has been a trainer and implementer for Pinewood Computer Solutions, a sister company to CFC Solutions and part of the automotive retailer Pendragon group.
Finally, Jaama has also recruited Dale Fullerton to its project and account management department. He has joined Jaama from Honda UK where he was special vehicle sales manager and prior to that he spent three years as new business sales and account manager at CFC Solutions. His motor industry career began a decade ago in retail car sales.
