Fleet software in the news
NEW COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SPECIALIST USES JAAMA SOFTWARE TO DELIVER SAVINGS TO FLEET OPERATORS
Newly-launched commercial vehicle fleet management specialist iFleet Ltd has chosen Jaama’s sophisticated Key2 internet-based software system to manage its operation.
The Luton-based company has a strategy to have in excess of 4,000 vehicles ranging from light commercial vehicles to HGVs on its books within four years. Jaama’s Key2 Vehicle Management system will be at the heart of its business plans.
Privately-funded iFleet has been launched by a team of four who scoured the fleet management software market to identify the best solution to deliver previously unachievable levels of control and efficiency to all aspects of their commercial vehicle operation.
The quartet has around 100 years of industry experience between them and managing director Tim Davies, the former managing director of Transolver and sales director at Renault Trucks UK, said: “We wanted fleet management software that had a strong bias towards both light and heavy commercial vehicles along with the ability for the software workflow to be adapted to our method of working without major reworks. Therefore, we looked for a web-based solution with very strong work and vehicle event management and workflow capability.”
Jaama’s Key2 Vehicle Management system provides iFleet with complete vehicle funding and lifecycle vehicle management data. Jaama and iFleet are currently working together to enhance Key2’s commercial vehicle quotation tool and workshop authorisation module.
Mr Davies said: “Jaama has shown a willingness to understand our software requirements and recognise the long term benefits of developing software in partnership with strategic customers. The Jaama software will be at the core of the new products and services that iFleet is launching and will bring a new approach to managing commercial vehicle fleets.
“It will allow iFleet to accurately manage a vast amount of vehicles with a relatively small headcount which will bring cost savings to the benefit of our customers. Generating cost savings in the prevailing economic climate is crucial.
“The iFleet management team has a lot of commercial vehicle industry expertise and have found Jaama to be a fleet management software partner that is keen and vibrant. Our businesses can grow together.”
In September, fast-growing Jaama marked its fourth anniversary with a move to new premises to enable continued expansion.
Managing director Jason Francis said: “There is huge commonality in the ethos of Jaama and iFleet. The senior management team of both companies left strong corporate careers behind to pursue their vision of delivering improved service to end-user fleets by launching their own businesses.
“The online functionality delivered by our Key2 product range is extremely broad and enables a wide cross-section of fleets operating a wide array of vehicles and plant equipment in diverse sectors of the marketplace to take advantage of its unique capabilities.”
Major Jaama customers include: British Transport Police, BCA, Hertfordshire County Council, DHL Express, Sheffield Insulation Group, Steria, Fleet Hire, Newton Vehicle Rentals, Phones 4U and Advantage Incident Management.
- Mr Davies cemented the partnership with Jaama by notching his first hole-in-one after playing golf for 33 years during a round with Mr Francis at Mickleover Golf Club. He watched as his 137-yard pitching wedge rolled off the greenside bank and into the hole.
