Fleet management
Jason Francis, managing director of Jaama, says: 'Our new website www.key2roadsafety.co.uk is freely accessible and is simple to use because that is what our customers and those 450plus fleet decisionmakers who have attended our health and safety seminars told us they wanted. Too often these people, many of whom are parttime fleet managers in charge of small and mediumsized fleets, are aware that they must implement a comprehensive risk management strategy but are unsure where to start. Equally, when they approach some risk management companies all they can see are huge costs mounting up because of the selling techniques employed.
'Our website provides a stepbystep guide broken down into three distinct areas the vehicle, the driver and the journey explaining in layman's terms what fleet decisionmakers must do to ensure they operate within best practice atwork driving health and safety guidelines. We have highlighted all the key areas which a fleet operator should include within their risk management policy and it is vital that they work closely with their atwork drivers in both compiling and communicating the document. Our website raises many of the issues that were originally highlighted in the Health and Safety Executive's 'Driving at work: managing workrelated road safety' document, which outlined best practice and was published five years ago. Many companies are put off compiling and implementing a fleet risk management policy because they believe it is both complex and expensive. We have removed both of those issues with the launch of our website. Additionally, health and safety policy templates are available to further help fleet decisionmakers.'
