To highlight this Perth and Kinross Council have invested in Jaama's Key2 Vehicle Management System which incorporates functionality to manage all aspects of acquiring, operating, maintaining and disposal of vehicles as well as accident management, fuel costs, driver training and managing occupational road risk. Asset Management Officer Matthew Alien heads up the recently established small Assest Management team at Friarton Road with the specific role to integrate the Jaama system into everyday life within Fleet Services.
Fleet Management Software expert Jaama is predicting significant public sector and 'blue light' fleet demand for its web-based Key2 Vehicle Management system after supplying the technology to two large councils in Scotland - one being Perth and Kinross - Luton Borough Council, Hertfordshire County Council, Hampshire County Council and British Transport Police to name but a few.
Online flexibility, the imminent availability of touch screen technology, in depth management reporting and across-department integration and accessibility are all key reasons why local authorities decide to install Key2 to manage their fleets of vehicles and plant equipment, including fuel usage and vehicle rental, as well as its workshops, stores and parts.
Luton Borough Council Transport Manager Don Allison said: "The ease of use of the system is incredible considering that it is so comprehensive. We spent a lot of time with Jaama developing the technology to meet our requirements and that work can also benefit other public sector fleets. Local authorities typically operate a very diverse mix of vehicles and plant and continue to service, maintain and repair vehicles through their own workshops. They need to link all this together and enable council officers across a range of departments to access data on vehicles, plant and machinery as well as drivers.
Such has been the 'revolution' in fleet management within Luton Borough Council as a result of Mr Allison's decision to introduce Jaama's technology that he is now recommending the technology to other organisations.
